Shelter Friends is a non-profit organization that supports the county, government-run, open intake, animal shelter. They are 100% volunteer run.
Since their launch, they have worked to meet “no-kill status”, meaning that 95% of animals brought in are adopted, reunited with their owner, or transferred. Animals are euthanized only in the case of severe illness or danger to the public, or animals that pass from their illness (ex. neonatal kittens)
They support the shelter in the community through a 3-pronged approach of donations, volunteers, and adoptees.
The ongoing challenge that Shelter Friends has dealt with is a clear identity in the community combined with community awareness of what the county shelter actually provides.
The goal of the project was to be able to build a website that will do a better job of educating people about our volunteer opportunities, support attracting a larger donor audience and support the growth goals of the organization.
The positive results of Shelter Friends’ new website will be determined 6-8 months after launch.
“It has been amazing to with with you & your team, knowing that nothing will fall through the cracks because you’re making sure everything is there.”
