BookStayHop is Southern Oregon’s preferred vacation reservation company, providing online management for property owners and rental listings on more than 1000 booking sites worldwide and growing. They have accomplished their success by going over the top to do everything for their guests. They offer a distinctive variety of homes, cottages, cabins throughout the Southern Oregon Wine Country, the Rogue Valley, the Oregon Coast, and Baja, Mexico.
The Goal
Design a site that allows for customization and categorization, with custom API integration, that could be comparable to the leading vacation rental management companies.
The Outcome
An exponential increase in direct website sales. Increased customer brand recognition. The attraction of bigger property owner clientele for additional growth expansion. And they feel confident they are taking their business to another level.

The Challenge
Over the years BookStayHop has had various websites, some of which were booking sites came with their Property Management platform provider. As such, they always fell short of truly reflecting them, showcasing their properties the way they wanted, and felt stagnant by doing nothing to help pull in guests. At the same time, they were looking to onboard a new multi-property unit and needed a system in place that would not only work effectively for the new unit, but for their current and future properties as well.
“We had our original website, which was nuts; static page. We worked with two different companies before, which also required us having websites. And we knew when we went down this, we had to choose like Indiana Jones choosing ‘the cup’; we had to choose wisely…We’re getting bigger. And we’re getting to that point where we can’t make those mistakes anymore.”
Our goal was to build a site on a platform with lots of flexibility, that would allow them to continue to grow the site as the company continues to grow. The focus was on showcasing the variety of the types of properties offered, as well as the unique culture of the areas they located, all in a clean easy to use format their customers appreciate. The platform also needed to integrate seamlessly with their reservation system as well as offer a specific list of features.
The Approach
To cater to their general demographic of retirees with little tech background, we ensured the site looked simple and was easy to use. To help users find their preferred location, we developed a dynamic property map. Results display according to area or suburb.
Book Stay Hops’ aesthetic is a nod to the 50s country club, when vacation properties really catered to their guests. Their concierge services include directions, flight information, restaurants, theatres, shopping, hiking, fishing, boating, biking, state, and national parks. They refer to everything from paddleboard rentals to wine tours, walking tours to concerts, events, and festivals. We made sure to honor this on the new site, by showcasing local attractions and designing the site with a simplified mid-century modern feel.
